Walking Men 99™99 Church Street, New YorkJanuary 2010 - December 2013
Walking Men 99™, a site-specific public art installation that joins together 99 iconic pedestrian traffic lights from cities around the world, wrapped around the construction site of the upcoming Four Seasons Hotel on 99 Church street in New York City nearly four years. The photographic collage stretched along the 500 feet of plywood walls that form a three-street-facade on Church Street, Park Place, and Barclay Street.
In May 2012 a second edition of Walking Men 99™ was unveiled, featuring twenty-five new “walking men” that were added to the installation. These new ‘walking men’ were a product of the ongoing contribution of the project’s followers, and site visitors.
Walking Men 99™ is part of the Re:Construction Program by the Alliance for Downtown New York, in collaboration with Silverstein Properties, and was curated by Ayelet Danielle Aldouby and Elinor Milchan of Artea Projects.
